Volunteers can help to provide care for our rehomed farm animals (goats, chickens and horses), including mucking out, feeding, enclosure maintenance, grooming and preventative care.
This provides skills in animal handling and husbandry. Getting to know the animals, which all have unique needs, also fosters compassion. As well as making friends at the farm (2 legged and 4 legged!), experienced volunteers can help mentor newer members, to develop leadership skills and build confidence.
We take referrals for social prescriptions, either through organisations such as Medrwn Mon, or you can self refer by getting in touch with us directly.
We also welcome work experience students, providing placements throughout the year.
Our animal care volunteering programme is supported by WCVA, Volunteering Wales and the Welsh Government.
